Pets of the Week

 

Every week we upload photos of some amazing pets who are looking for a great home. These pets have been checked and cared for by The Humane Society of Wayne County.  They are sponsoring this page to help these pets find the perfect human partner.

 

 

HERE ARE THE HSWC PETS OF THE WEEK

 

 

Winona is a 3-year-old spayed female brown and tan Boxer. She is a happy dog that loves to be with people. She knows how to sit for treats. She is a large bone puppy that we would recommend low calorie treats. She is learning how to walk on a leash. You can find her having fun in our play yard, most days. She must meet any resident dog. Please contact the shelter if you would like to spend time with her. Winona is available through our Adult Companion Program to those who qualify.

Bootsie is a 4-year-old spayed female long haired black and white kitty. She loves hanging out on our cat trees, just look at her picture. She can also be found curled up in one of our cubbies. She is very friendly and loves attention. She is getting along with the other kitties in our cat room but doesn’t care for dogs. She loves to play with toys and would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. If you would like to meet her, contact the shelter to make sure she is not at one of your off-site adoption centers.

Addison is 1 1/2-year-old spayed female Torti kitty. She came to the shelter as a stray. She likes dogs, but really is not a fan of other cats. She is affectionate, friendly, and just wants to have a new home to call her own. She likes to talk and play with toys. Please contact the shelter to make sure she is not at one of your off-site adoption centers.

 

 

 

 

Huckleberry is a 10-year-old neutered male Treeing Walker Coonhound mix. He is extremely sweet and enjoys going for walks. He can be sometime vocal to let you know what he wants. He has a great disposition and is just looking for a home where he can spend his golden year and enjoy someone’s company. Huckleberry is available through our Adult Companion Program to those who qualify.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Zeus is a 2-year-old neutered male short haired black and white kitty. He loves helping the staff clean in the cat room. He tells you when he wants attention by being very vocal. He will follow you around until you stop, talk to him, and pet him. He really likes to be the center of all the attention. He loves to play with the other cats and his favorite toys must have catnip in them. He would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. Fletcher is a 1-year-old neutered male white and tan Cattle dog mix. He is smart and knows how to sit for treats. He has tons of energy and needs a space where he can run and play. He is looking for a home without small children, no cats and needs to meet any resident dog. He is learning how to walk on a leash and is a real sweetheart. Hagrid is 2-year-old neutered male orange tiger kitty. He came to the shelter as a stray. He looks like he is auditioning to be the next Grumpy Cat, but he loves to cuddle. He will be your best friend curling up with you watching an old movie on a rainy day. He likes other cats and is learning about dogs while he stays with us. He is friendly and affectionate and would make a terrific addition to almost any home. Please contact the shelter to make sure he is not at one of your off-site adoption centers.

 

 

 

 

 

Lily is a 2-year-old spayed female brindle and white Hound mix. She is an incredibly happy girl that loves people. She knows how to sit for treats and enjoys going for walks. She can be a little grabby with treats, so we recommend cautions around small children. She is learning about cats and other dogs while she stays with us. Lily is a special needs dog. Harper is a 2 ½ year old spayed female brown and white Labrador/Pitt mix. She enjoys going for walks and playing outside in our play yard. She might be too much for any cats in her new home. She might to better in a home without small children. She should meet any resident dogs to make sure they get along. Rambo is a 10-month-old neutered male orange and white kitty. He came to the shelter because her owner had too many kitties. He likes to cuddle, and he loves high places, just look at his picture. He likes other cats and is learning abouts dogs while he stays with us. He is friendly and affectionate. He likes to play with toys and run around the open cat room. Mike is a 9-month-old neutered male short haired grey tiger kitty. He came to the shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. He likes other cats and is learning about dogs. He is friendly and loves to play with toys. He is sweet and is looking for a home to call his own. Mateo is a 1 1/2-year-old neutered male black St. Bernard/Labrador Retriever mix. He knows how to sit for sit, shake, and lay down for treats. He enjoys going for walks and is a real sweetheart. He needs a home without small children, and we think he will be better off being the only pet in the home. He is a large dog, tipping the scales at 115 pounds. She likes other cats and is learning abouts dogs while she stays with us. She is friendly and likes to sit in the window and watch what is going on outside. Jack is a 11-year-old neutered male yellow Lab mix. He knows how to sit and shake his paw for treats. He is a happy dog and enjoys people. We think he will do better in a quiet home. He is leery of strangers at first but is learning how to trust new people. He might chase cats and needs a home with older children. He needs to meet any resident dog as he can be selective about his dog friends.
