Pets of the Week

Every week we upload photos of some amazing pets who are looking for a great home. These pets have been checked and cared for by The Humane Society of Wayne County. They are sponsoring this page to help these pets find the perfect human partner.

HERE ARE THE HSWC PETS OF THE WEEK

Rio is a 2 -year-old neutered male short haired black and white kitty. He came to the shelter because he was not getting along with the other cat in the home. We feel he would be a better fit being the only animal in the home. He is very outgoing and loves to be in the middle of what is going on. He loves to play with toys and sit in sunny windows. He knows how to play fetch and has a ton of energy. He also like to play rough and sometime does not realize that his claws and teeth hurt when he uses them. Rocco is a 3-year-old neutered male tan and black Pitt mix. He knows how to sit and lay down for treats. He needs a home without cats or small children. He is friendly and loves to run and play. Astro is a 10-year-old neutered male mostly white American Bulldog mix. He knows how to sit and shake for treats. He needs a home with older children, as he can be gabby with his food and treats. He likes to play rough with his toys and must meet any resident dog to make sure they get along. He will probably chase cats. Stop in and spend some time with him. Astro is available through our Adult Companion Program to those who qualify.

Ryker is a 3 ½ year old neutered male short haired white and black kitty. He came to the shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. He is nervous in new environments and can take time to warm up to new people. He has been with us a couple of months and he will greet you in the cat room. He loves other cats and needs to have a feline friend in his new home. He needs a quieter home without children. Murphy is a 9-year-old neutered male yellow Golden Retriever. He is a gentle very sweet dog. He enjoys going for walks and loves to curl up on his bed with a toy for an afternoon nap. Sparrow is a 6-month-old spayed female short haired brown tiger kitty. She came to the shelter as a stray. She is very sweet and affectionate and loves attention. Sparrow is a special needs kitty and had to have one eye removed. Do not think this slows her down, they are both full of energy and spunk. Chedder Biscuit is a 1 -year-old neutered male orange and white kitty. He came to the shelter because his owners could no longer care for him. He gets a little nervous in new situations. Once he settles in to his new surroundings, his fun-loving personality comes out. He is very adventurous and loves to play. He can be very dominate with other animals and tends to play rough. He would do best in a home without small children and any other pets. Nova is a 3 -year-old spayed female diluted Torti kitty. She came to the shelter because she was not getting along with the other cats and dogs in the home.
